March 16–22

Buffalo’s waterfront skyline — one of the many reasons people love calling Western New York home.

You’re probably looking out your window right now, seeing temperatures hovering in the 40s (maybe flirting with the low 50s if we’re lucky), and thinking:

“Wait… is winter actually over?”

And honestly? That’s a smart reaction.

If you’ve lived in Buffalo for more than a week, you know better than to pack away the heavy parkas just because the sun decided to show its face on a Monday.

Western New York is currently doing that classic early-spring rollercoaster — cool mornings, a little afternoon thaw, and everyone collectively celebrating that it’s above freezing and the snow is finally melting.

But that’s the beauty of living here.

We don’t wait for “perfect” weather to have a good time.

Whether it’s the roar of the crowd downtown for March Madness or the sea of green that just took over Buffalo for St. Patrick’s Day weekend, this week is peak Buffalo energy.

If you’re thinking about moving to Buffalo NY, or if you’re already here and trying to navigate the Western New York real estate market, you’ve come to the right place.

Celebrating an exciting milestone — our team was named #1 Team Company-Wide for 2025 and received the Platinum Award for Sales at WNY Metro Roberts Realty.

A Quick Personal Note (and Big Thank You)

Before we jump into everything happening this week, I wanted to share some exciting news.

Our team was recently honored with:

🏆 #1 Team Company-Wide for 2025
🏆 Platinum Award for Sales

at WNY Metro Roberts Realty.

While the awards are an incredible honor, the real reward is the trust our clients put in us every single day.

Buying or selling a home is a huge moment in someone’s life, and it means the world to be part of that journey. Every showing, late-night question, referral, and closing celebration is what makes this career so rewarding.

So truly-thank you.

We’re incredibly grateful for our clients, friends, and community who continue to support us.

And we’re just getting started.

Buffalo celebrating St. Patrick’s Day — one of the city’s most beloved traditions.

Buffalo Just Wrapped Up St. Patrick’s Day Weekend

Between the Old Neighborhood Parade in the Old First Ward and the Buffalo St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Delaware Avenue, the city was a sea of green all weekend long.

If you were out celebrating, you already know the energy Buffalo brings to this holiday.

And if you missed it, don’t worry — the spirit tends to linger in our favorite Irish pubs and neighborhoods well into the week.

One of my personal favorites is Gene McCarthy’s in the Old First Ward. Between the history of the building, the brewery, and classic Buffalo comfort food, it’s a quintessential Buffalo neighborhood spot.

But the best part of the holiday isn’t the beer or the corned beef.

It’s the community.

You’ll see neighbors who haven’t seen each other all winter finally emerging from their hibernation to catch up on sidewalks and patios.

That sense of belonging is one of the biggest reasons people keep searching for Buffalo NY real estate. People aren’t just buying homes here — they’re looking for neighborhoods where people show up for each other.

March Madness comes to KeyBank Center this week as Buffalo hosts NCAA Tournament games.

March Madness Comes to Buffalo

If the Irish festivities weren’t enough to keep the city buzzing, Buffalo will also be hosting the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament First and Second Rounds at KeyBank Center from March 20–22.

Whenever a national sporting event comes to Buffalo, the city absolutely comes alive.

Downtown will be packed with fans from across the country, restaurants will be buzzing, and the waterfront area will have that big-event energy.

Even if you aren’t filling out a bracket, it’s exciting to see Buffalo showcased on a national stage.

Events like this also highlight how much our downtown corridor has grown over the past several years. When people visit Buffalo and see the energy, the restaurants, and the waterfront, they quickly understand why so many people are choosing to put down roots here.

Market Minute: Is It Still “Crazy” Out There?

This is the question I hear almost every day:

“Kristina… is the market still crazy?”

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: It’s competitive-but manageable with the right plan.

The Western New York real estate market is gearing up for the spring rush. While it may only be March, the spring market has already started.

Inventory remains tight, which means homes that are priced well and show well tend to move quickly.

If you're a buyer, you've probably experienced the frustration of seeing a home you love go under contract quickly. You're not imagining things — homes are moving fast.

But preparation makes all the difference.

And if you’re a seller, now is the perfect time to start preparing your home.

Western New York’s village centers offer charming shops, restaurants, and a strong sense of community.

Why Lifestyle Matters in Real Estate

When people buy a home, they’re not just buying a structure.

They’re buying the everyday moments that make a place feel like home.

Maybe it’s walking down Main Street in East Aurora and stopping into Vidler's 5 & 10, grabbing coffee at a local café, or spending a Saturday afternoon browsing the shops and farmers markets.

Maybe it’s a quiet tree-lined neighborhood in Amherst, a park nearby in Clarence, or dinner in the village in Hamburg or Orchard Park.

That’s the beauty of Western New York.

Each community has its own personality and rhythm-from charming village centers like East Aurora to the convenience of the Northtowns and the scenic spaces throughout Erie County.

When I help someone find a home, we’re not just looking at square footage and bedrooms. We’re looking at the lifestyle that comes with the location.

Because the right home isn’t just about the house — it’s about the community around it.

Sometimes the best way to enjoy spring in Western New York is by slowing down and appreciating the small wins.

Looking Ahead: March 16–22

Monday – Wednesday
Enjoy the above-freezing temperatures and the first hints of spring.

Thursday – Sunday
March Madness takes over downtown Buffalo.

All week
Wear green. It’s just safer that way.

Thinking About Buying or Selling?

Whether you’re looking to buy your first home or preparing to sell, navigating the market is much easier when you have a plan.

If you’re curious about:

• what your home might be worth
• homes currently for sale in Western New York
• or whether this is the right time to make a move

I’d be happy to help.

Every situation is different, and sometimes a quick conversation can make the whole process feel much clearer.
